As the route continues, it descends into the colorful village of Flam. From Flam, you will continue your journey by ferry through the spectacular fjords with an overnight stay in Balestrand. DAY 2 - Train journey to Flam, Norway
Enjoy a delightful breakfast at your hotel before departing for your next adventure. You will board the Bergen Railway, one of the most picturesque train rides in the world. Spanning just over four (4) hours, this breathtaking journey will take you from serene lakes to mountains. In Myrdal, you will transfer to the historic Flåm Railway. Arriving in Flam, you’ll have some time to take in the shops and stunning vistas that define this Norwegian village.
From here, you’ll catch a picturesque ferry ride across the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the majestic Sognefjord, to your next destination, the Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand. Settle into your enchanting surroundings and unwind with breathtaking views of the fjord.
DAY 3 - Depart for Bergen, Norway
After a restful night at the Kviknes Hotel, start your day with a hearty breakfast overlooking the beautiful fjord. Later, you will continue on a 3-hour cruise to Bergen along the Sognefjord, Norway's longest & deepest fjord, with mountain peaks towering 2,000 meters above. As the cruise departs from Balestrand, you’ll admire the village’s colorful houses framed by lush green hills and snowcapped mountains in the background. Once you arrive in Bergen, the Clarion Hotel Bergen is only a short distance from the harbor. You’ll check in for an overnight stay. With the afternoon free, immerse yourself in the charm of Bergen, known for its colorful wooden houses and rich maritime history. Stroll through Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage site, explore the vibrant fish market, or take the Fløibanen funicular for stunning views of the surrounding fjords and mountains.
DAY 4 - Explore Bergen & board Cruise Ship
After enjoying another breakfast at the Clarion Hotel Bergen, enjoy last-minute exploration of the city’s scenic sites. Mt Floyen Funicular tickets are included for an iconic view of Bergen! In the afternoon, you will make your way a short distance to the port to join your cruise ship. As you board and settle in, reflect on a remarkable journey through Norway’s breathtaking landscapes and culture, eager for the adventures yet to come on the sea.
